Windows 10: Install Windows 10 from BIOS and a Hard Drive

Hi all,My name is Thomas.I have retrieved a PC from the previous company of my wife.It has not been formated and is account is disabled.HP EliteBook 840 G5, Intel Core I5 8th generation.I don't have a windows session password.The BIOS was inaccessible but I manage to solve this part.The BIOS is protected by an admin password that obviously I don't have.I don't have access to the UEFI boot order option.USB Storage Boot option is checked.I have, in my name, an official version of Windows 10, build 19044 ISO file, and extracted files from the ISO file on another PC.I would like to install my Wi

Hard drive/ OS issue

Help with external hard drive

I appreciate your interest in windows 10 and also for trying the troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. I understand the inconvenience you faced. I will certainly help you with this.

I would suggest you to plug in hard drive then check in disk management you can see the drive or not.

Follow the steps to check Drive in Disk Management.

• 
  Go to the Control Panel then click on the
  Administrative Tools. .
  
• 
  Under the Administrative Tool Click on Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Disk Management and check the External Hard Drive.
  

Also check in BIOS whether External Hard Drive is listed or not.

For help with the BIOS settings, refer to the computer manual or contact the manufacturer.

If it doesn’t work then, I would suggest you to update BIOS for updating BIOS contact Lenovo Support.
