Windows 10: Install Windows 10

I have an HP 8200 Elite computer running Windows 7 SP1. The computer has an SSD drive in it. I want to install Windows 10 on it so I can install Office 2013 or 2016.


My purpose is to run Windows 10 and either Office 2013 or 2016 on this computer.


1. If I install Windows 10 as an Upgrade (no format) then it installs successfully and data is retained. However I am not able to install Office 2013 on it because it still says Windows 7 32 bit operating system 64 bit processor. Obviously Office looks at the 32 bit operating system rather than 64 processor.


2. If I install Windows 10 as a clean (drive is formatted) then it fails with an error code 0x80070017.


I am using Windows 10 dvd as the media source. I feel that it is a catch 22 because if I want use Windows 10 then I can't use Office 2013. There is nothing wrong using Office 2010 other than it is old and outdated.


What am I doing wrong?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
