Windows 10: Installation hung on 'Just a Moment'

OK will try and find a windows 7 32 bit iso and the serial number on the machine.

 

You could also go with the 64bit as long as it is for the same edition of 7. But you won't have to upgrade over another install of 7 on the drive you have internally. Just follow the instructions in the 3rd guide since you already have 7 on the external drive. And the Media Creation tool shouldn't be left on the flash drive you plan to use for the 10 installation key.

Unless you have some 3rd party program like Rufus mentioned in one guide, UltraISO used enough times here, or some other iso to flash drive type program you'll want to run that from one of the hard drives preferably the same folder you download the 10 ISO to if not using the MC tool to create media directly when having the flash drive plugged in for that. The tool will detect and list the flash drive and will overwrite anything already on it when creating the 10 stick.

 

Up and running now. Managed to get it to do a recovery on the 95% installed W 10 and pulled the external HD out and it installed. Then formatted the removable drive.

Glad to hear you saw results! *Thumbs So as it turned out the external drive was hampering things all along for you as I suspected even if it was an eSata type it was being seen much like a storage drive would be by the 10 installer which has a new way of doing things!

The important thing is you are now able to 10 on and let's hope it stays running good for you there!
