Windows 10: Installation Restarts After Booting from USB

It asks me to press a button to boot from USB, then shows the Windows 10 logo without the loading animation under it for like 20 seconds, then suddenly the PC reboots.

I downloaded the ISO directly from Windows's website, and flashed with Rufus. I switched the USB to SanDisk but it still doesn't work. The PC is pretty old with Pentium 4 and Windows 7 32-bit preinstalled on it, but CPU supports 64-bit. So I have to use NTFS BIOS on Rufus.

Any help is much appreciated. Right now I'm downloading the Windows 7 64-bit ISO, maybe I can install it and install Windows 10 directly from the OS. Thanks for any help!

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk

Ok someone want to explain this? I put the USB stick gf's comp restart it and it doesn't find it. It should list it as an HDD, but it doesn't. I restart and try f8 to get the boot options and it doesn't show it.

 

USB install XP onto old laptop

Download the boot disk setup, create all 6 boot disks. Insert XP CD, and run off the boot disk, and follow the on screen steps. Then the boot disk will access the XP CD to finish up the install.

I dont think there is a way to install XP via usb if your computer does not support usb booting in the first place.
