Windows 10: Installed a fake version of blender

Hi _AW_I've seen that you've been helping others with this issue. I have the same thing going on that none of my antivirus softwares seem to be able to find. It appears that someone is able to gain controll of my chrome browser, they've tried to access my other accounts. Run exe (not an installer) always gives "install non-verified app" warning (for Blender)

I downloaded the latest Blender (3.1.2) from blender.org as a ZIP and unzipped it, because I want to execute it alongside other Blender versions that I already have installed.

Every time I try to execute blender.exe (3.1.2) I get a Windows (10) popup: "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app..." If I select "Install anyway" it runs. The exe is not an installer, just a regular app.

• I'm not trying to install anything. Why does Windows think so?
  
• Reconfiguring Windows to "allow install from anywhere" is a terrible workaround, and not really a solution at all. Security is a good thing.
  
• Does anyone else see this? Does anyone have an explanation / workaround / solution? Thanks.

Which version of Blender is installed on the computer?

I see that Blender, version 2 is compatible with Windows 10. To verify, click the following link.

If you are using the compatible version, then the issue could be due to some third party services or applications.

Place the computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists. You may follow the article mentioned to perform a clean boot.

A clean boot allows the Windows operating system to launch without any additional programs or services running when you turn the computer on. This allows you to determine if computer issues are caused by a program or service that starts up when you
boot the machine.

Blender 2.8 rc3 keeps crashing

You are running a recently released beta test version of Blender, if you head over to the Blender forum, you will see many users are reporting this as one of the many bugs in that Release Candidate 3 version

Beta test versions are always going to have bugs and crashes, your best option is to uninstall RC3 and install the latest stable release of Blender, until the Blender developers resolve the bugs in RC3 and then you can download version 2.8 when that is fully
released . .
