Windows 10: Installed new Brother J5855 printer which has auto duplex but windows doesn't recognize it....

I installed a new Brother Inkjet printer MFC-J5855 which has auto duplex option. Windows won't allow me to change the setting to enable duplex. The Basic printer preferences screen has no option to adjust the duplex setting.

Brother Printer exists & works, but won't "Install" - Why?

Check whether I understood you well.
First try: Add new printer, Windows finds printer and loads its own drivers/programme automatically. It wprks but not with the Brother drivers.
Second try: Brother package: failed
I suggest a third try: Add new printer; the printer that I wanted is not listed; continue and see of your model is listed. in the list of printers.
I had difficulties with setting up another Brother printer, and the third try solved it.

 

How do you auto-duplex on HP m277dw printer with Windows 10?

Various forums suggest setting the Duplex Unit to Installed on the Device Settings dialog to get the HP m277dw printer to print double sided. I have done this and it works if I manually flip the pages:





This model printer has allowed for automatic duplexing for versions of Windows prior to Windows 10.

What can I do to cause the printer to auto-duplex under Windows 10, whether that's a setting on the printer itself, a driver update, or some obscure Windows setting? HP Support doesn't seem to know what to do.

 

Windows doesn''t recognize printer

I connect the printer (Brother DCP7010) by means of a USB-cable, but a little grey windows right under tells me that Windows doesn't recognize the USB hardware connected. I tried to reinstall the printerdriver. Windows tells me that the driver is included
in Windows 10. Here my attempts to reinstall the printer end.

In Settings --> Devices --> Connected devices --> Other devices there is an item "Unknown USB device (request for device descriptor failed) Driver failure"

What can I do more?
