    Hello,

I have a problem, i clean installed windows 10 education, i have 6 GB of RAM and only 4.96 GB RAM is usable. I went and unchecked max memory, and it's still at 4.96 GB usable. Any solution?

  2. 8gb ram installed only 3.44 gb ram usable

    Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a new 4 GB ram similar to my current one that is also 4 GB. I installed it and now I have 8 GB of ram. My problem is that although I have 8 GB my computer uses 3.44 GB of ram. I have installed both of the rams twice and nothing
changed, I tried to format my computer and the problem remained... any ideas? Please help.

    Thanks.

Does the entire 8 GB show up in the BIOS? Learn how to load your BIOS and check:

    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/bios-uefi-setu...

Just to confirm, you do have 64 bit Windows 10 installed, open Start > Settings > System > About

It actually says 64 bit operating system under System type.

If all of those check out, then there might be a fault with one of the memory modules. You can try checking either one for errors:

    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/use-the-memory...

Also, press Windows key + R

    Type: msconfig

    Hit Enter

Go to the Boot tab > Advanced options > make sure Maximum memory is unchecked

Click OK then click Apply then OK

There could be plenty of reasons, but I would first go back and reset anything you changed in msconfig or anywhere else. There's no need to alter those settings.

Second, it is likely reserved for some hardware, most often a video card. Your system specs say laptop, so how are your graphics configured? Do you have a setting in the BIOS to reserve a certain amount of memory for the graphics?

Well i have AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics 1.80 GHz processor and AMD Radeon R5 M330 2GB, but i think i don't have a driver for it, so like it's not even there.
I checked the BIOS, and i could't find anything about reserving amount of memory for the graphics,
but BIOS gives me 6144 MB of RAM.

  6. That memory may be swallowed up by the built-in/onboard graphics. You may be able to reclaim that memory by loading the drivers for your add-in card and setting the BIOS to use it.
