Windows 10: Installed the 22H2 Update, Laptop Now Crashing and Freezing

Hello all,I just installed the Windows 10 22H2 update on my laptop. I restarted the computer to finish installing the update. When I get back into Windows, everything is super slow to load and everything is crashing if I try opening something eg. Tried to run Run, but it stops responding; every 3-4 keystrokes, it will stop responding. It takes ~2 mins for the Run window to pop up after pressing Windows+R, but I try typing something in and it stops responding. This happens with anything I try to open.I've since managed to run the computer in Advanced Startup, allowing me to access CMD and att

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Do dism and sfc /scannow commands before and/or after installing it.

 

Windows Vista Wont Install Freezes?

had the same problem, freezes and long installation including each step loading, in my case a bios update helped.

I wish things are that simple. My error code was 0x80246017, and I don't have KB5020435 installed so it's a dead end. BTW, MS lists like 6 or 7 error codes of the format 0x8024xxxx on the "troubleshooting WU problems", and when you chose next step, it suggests generic steps: run WU troubleshooter, check if your disk has no errors, is your remote disk is accessible, etc. Same as MS community; each similar error has completely different cause and (re)solution.
MS in notorious for this- if it works then OK, if it doesn't then good luck.
