Windows 10: Installed Windows 10 on Gateway Laptop now Touchpad won't work

I installed Windows 10 on my Daughters Gateway NV55C laptop and now the Elan touchpad won't work. I uninstalled the old driver and went to Gateways website and installed the new driver and it's still not working. The touchpad doesn't even show up when I click on the Elan tab in settings. I'm getting quite frustrated and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Windows 10 Disabled My Touchpad Scrolling. Help?

My mother and I each have a Gateway laptop and we just upgraded to Windows 10. And now our touchpad vertical scrolling does not work. I looked at Settings > Devices > Mouse & Touchpad and there's no option to turn it on or off. Is there anyway to fix
this? Thanks so much.

 

Touchpad not working on Windows 10 ASUS

My laptop's touchpad is not working? I updated to Windows 10 and now it won't work, so I'm stuck using a mouse which I do not want so why is my touchpad not working? It is an ASUS Notebook PC

 

Do you have a mouse plugged in? Some Notebooks automatically disable the touchpad when using an external mouse. Most Notebooks have a procedure for turning it off, sometimes a switch but most use the Fn key plus another Fx key to toggle it On or Off, these usually occur before the Operating System loads. What I do in such a circumstance is boot to a diagnostic CD disc or Linux LiveDVD to see what works.

 

When you restart this laptop the cursor arrow will not show up at all. Only after I plug in the USB receiver for my Microsoft wireless mouse will the cursor arrow show up. On this particular laptop the way to toggle on and off the touchpad is to press FN and F5 at the same time which I have tried several times and it doesn't help. Funny thing is it shows that the touchpad is being turned ON and OFF, but it is not actually doing anything.

 

Where would I get a diagnostic CD disc or Linux LiveDVD?

 

Take a look in the firmware (BIOS | UEFI) for the touchpad setting.
If it is set to Advanced, change it to Basic
