Windows 10: Installed windows 11, unable to decrypt files which were encrypted on previous version...

Hi All,I have encrypted few important files on windows 10, now I have installed windows 11 and unable to decrypt the same files. I have windows.old folder created and so came back to previous version . Facing the same issue again though. I do not have any certifications backup. How can I decrypt them.Advance thanks.

One of our employee deleted and encrypted the files in the F: drive using cipher.exe command. While trying to recover them with a third party software, the deleted files are showing and all of them are encrypted. Can anyone suggest how can i decrypt and
recover all the deleted data back?

Error message 0x80071771 means that you need to restore the file encryption key in order for you to decrypt the encrypted files. On the other hand, you can still try these steps and see if it will work:

• Right-click the file or folder that you want to decrypt.
• Click File ownership and click Personal.

Bitlocker - decrypting files from a previous version of Windows

I'm not familiar with Bitlocker to go, but I am able to encrypt/decrypt any drive connected to my system. However, these are stand-alone files that were encrypted during a previous drive encryption and are no longer associated with an encrypted drive.

Hopefully someone has a solution!
