    Installers don't open on friend's PC


    Hello, Reddit.

    I somehow convinced my friend to download Sonic Adventure on Steam. In short, the game's very broken due to it being ported many time before that port was on Steam, so I've been trying to help her mod it so she doesn't play a glitchy mess, however, she's been having some issues. Whenever she opens the mod installer for it opens a white box that says:

    "Search for app in the store?
    You need to install an app for this task
    Would you like to search for one in the Store?"

    When she clicks on "Yes", a User Account Control box appears, it asks her to enter in her PC password, she does so, clicks okay, and nothing happens.

    I've tried helping her with admin stuff, going into security for the installer and unblocking it. I should also note that this isn't just for that installer, it's for any installer.

    I'm usually pretty good with this stuff, especially when I've been modding this game for years, but I've never run into this issue. Does anyone know why this is happening? Or how to fix it?
