  1. Installing a Nvidva Graphics Card On a Computer alredy running off the motherboards built card

I had some liquid spill onto the top of one of my computers right onto the graphics card, it was not much and the card continued to last

for at least another six months so I thought I was safe, but at about that time it seemed to quit. I'm not quite convinced that it did as I have

I have had problems with the electrical wiring in this house. Many electonics refused to come on until you unplugg them and then upon

plugg them back in they are just fine,TVs, Soundbars and computers.

They put in a new powersupply and took out my 16 gigs of memory - replacing it with 8. They also failed to reconnect my D: drive, but at least

it booted when I got it home.

I restored it and make the old d: the new c: boot drive. The other disc (ssddrive was still in place but is now the d: drive. In order to use the computer I had to get a DP to HDMI adapter and run on the MSI motherboard graphics.

I plan to install a new Nvidia card today. What should I expect to see as possible problems. Should I unplug the DP to HDMI and install the card or is it ok to leave the DP to HDMI connected when I do my first boot. I never had to do this before - any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think the memory cards he removed are bad. Would giving them a try be ok or could it cause damage to system. They were not in the area of the spill and were seated. I think they were protected. As of now the computer thinks the MSI motherboard is it's graphics card. I would love to hear any advice as I don't want to send it back to that shop.

    Thanks

    PKE

    :)

    graphics card problems

    Hi,

Your computer makes a noise or beeps from your internal speaker because it failed to detect the graphics card. What we can suggest is for you to try cleaning your graphics card with a pencil eraser. Here are the steps below:

    • Turn your computer off.
    • Pull out your video/graphics card.
    • Rubbed the cold contacts with soft pencil eraser.
    • Connect your video/graphics card back to the computer.
Kindly note that this is just a temporary fix. If the case still continues, I suggest that you contact your graphics card's manufacturer.

Let us know how it goes.
