    Hello,


    I'm trying to install an image of my hard drive onto my new surface book 2. My old surface book 2 was defective. The replacement is identical in terms of hardware. I followed the instructions here:

    I go through the standard process:

    1. System settings
    2. Security and privacy
    3. Advanced options
    4. Troubleshooting
    5. System image recovery
    6. Select image backup (it finds the image on my external drive)

    After this step the wizard insists on a recovery CD or DVD, or creating one. I have created a recover disk using a micro USB card. (I haven't used a CD / DVD in years ...) The card was automatically labelled 'RECOVERY' and sits on the 'F' drive.


    I've gone through the above process with the recovery disk (choosing to boot from USB), changed the BIOS to make USB the first boot option, etc. I always get the requirement to create a recovery disk again when going through the image install process.


    Any help would be appreciated.

    Installing windows insider on a new surface book 2

    I just got a new surface book 2. I want to install windows insider on another partition on the hard drive. I can dual boot on my other machines but it looks like there is something different with installing on the surface book 2 and I don't want to
    hose by Win10 regular installion by installing Insider over it. Any suggestions? I posted this a while back on what I thought was the insider hub but can't get back to it.
