Hello, I recently discovered that I couldn't install any programs I downloaded as it promoted me to a screen saying that I have that setting turned of, it told me to go to the settings and change the setting, I click the text and the setting which I should change appears but it grayed out and there is a red line at the top saying *Some settings are hidden or managed by your organisation. This pc has never been owned by a company or an organisation outside of me and I have a legitimate Windows copy. I have tried the common 3 different ways regedit, and two using gpedit.msc of fixing it but noo

    Hi A,

    Your English is just fine.

Let’s check a couple other locations. Right click on one of the .exe’s you’re trying to install, and click properties.

Under the general tab, towards the bottom right, is there an “unblock” option? if so, and it’s checked out, uncheck it, and try again.

if no luck, we’ll move forward. Click start, and type defender, and launch windows defender. Go to App and Browser Control, and see if Check apps and files are set to Block.

Change it to Warn or Off and try again to launch your exe.

    Let me know!

Hello, I recently discovered that I couldn't install any programs I downloaded as it promoted me to a screen saying that I have that setting turned of, it told me to go to the settings and change the setting, I click the text and the setting which I should
change appears but it grayed out and there is a red line at the top saying *Some settings are hidden or managed by your organisation.

This pc has never been owned by a company or an organisation outside of me and I have a legitimate Windows copy.

I have tried the common 3 different ways (regedit, and two using gpedit.msc) of fixing it but noon of them has worked.

    Sorry for the poor English.

Blocking of EXE file by network security programmes

The file is block by something called smoothwall. It appears to block most, if not all, .exe files from downloading. The file GPU-Z has been identified as a system tool.

I've notice that if these file are .7z or even .zip they most often get thru.

I've no control of this blocking process.
