Windows 10: Installing new TPlink AC1900 router- Network cleanup

Win 10. Currently I'm using a old Linksys WRT546 router and it works fine but old. Daughter bought me a new TPlink AC 1900 router. Problem is my computer seemly wont configure this router to connect to the internet. I have followed the instructions but no luck so I called TPLink help support and they did some system checks. He went into my computer and found 30 or so IP addresses and said I needed to do a network clean up and remove all of these blockages and old IP addresses and generate a new static IP address for TPlink 192.168.1.1.How do I do this? I have a laptop, printer and PC connecte

Okay, so as you type in the device name, take it slow. Windows Explorer will start looking for the device as soon as you start typing. Unfortunately you can type much faster than Explorer can search.

I did some looking try this \\TP-Share\Volume_A1. If that fails then your router does not have sharing enabled. In that case logon to your router using a browser. The address ishttp://tplinkwifi.net. I would assume you know the user/password here. Once logged in navigate to Advanced - USB Settings - Sharing Access page. On the Sharing Settings part, make sure Network Neighborhood is ticked, and enter a Network/Media Server Name as you like, such as MyShare, then click Save. Now you can access the USB disk by visiting \\MyShare (for Windows) or smb:// MyShare (for Mac).

Thanks again for your advice. I tried the different paths you suggest and I had already selected the settings you suggest on my router. I've pasted images of what is shown when I select 'Network' in file explorer. It only shows the router as a media share device. I've also pasted an image of the USB sharing settings on mr router admin. I can't see anything else I can change unless there's a way to configure windows to recognise the share as a drive instead of a media streaming device.

Thanks for posting your screenshots. What happens if you do this:

Open Explorer, tick on Network to select it, in Explorer Network address bar type \\C2300-Share\?

The result from above should be that you see a Windows Credentials Prompt appear asking for the logon information for your router, then this share opens to show content of the share and the location name as above shows up under Network in Explorer.

One thing I see that looks odd to me is that there are no folders listed as shared under Sharing Contents in your screenshot even though the check box is ticked there. What I see instead is a drive letter. So if the above suggestion does not work for you try this next:

In the Explorer Network address bar type \\CS2300-Share\G

Does that now result in a credentials prompt showing up? If it does then enter the credential for your router and the share should open. You can then use the above to Add a Network Location as described earlier on any LAN attached PC.

I've tried everything you suggest but no joy I'm afraid. Thank you for trying to help but I think I have to give this up although I hate being beaten.
