Windows 10: Installing OpenType Font

Discus and support Installing OpenType Font in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I am using Windows 10 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.     Installing OpenType Font


    I am using Windows 10 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I purchased some specialized fonts to use in Adobe Illustrator. The directions I found online regarding installation say install them in the Fonts folder in Windows first.


    I followed the steps but the Fonts drag and drop box will not accept them. Any suggestions?

    How do uninstall, installed OpenType Font

    when I installed an OpenType Font some of the website turned into that font, Why?

    also I can't delete it, this happens after I installed 1 oft font I downloaded here:

    Please tell me how do I delete it, I tried to go to list of font but it wasn't even there

    I tried to search C:\ for it but it says the item is no longer located.

    Edit: first go to: Dotdash then Install the font then go to: Dotdash then you'll see the difference

    Also sorry If I'm in wrong windows topic I don't know which one is correct

    Fonts - How can I tell in my Fonts folder which fonts are OpenType?

    I have recently been looking at using Stylistic Sets in Word. My understanding is that these only are present in OpenType fonts. When I look, the fonts are identified as TrueType but some of them are OpenType. How can I distinguish between them?

    Installing OpenType Font

    How do uninstall, installed OpenType Font

    Start Regedit.exe and go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts

    Backup the branch by exporting to a .REG file.

    In the right-pane, delete the following values:

    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigCond (TrueType)
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigCondObl (TrueType)
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigExt (TrueType)
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigExtObl (TrueType)
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLight (TrueType)
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLightItal (TrueType)

    Exit the Registry Editor, logoff and login back.

    Then manually delete following .OTF files from C:\Windows\Fonts using
    Command Prompt (Admin).

    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigCond_0.otf
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigCondObl.otf
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigExt.otf
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLigExtObl.otf
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLight.otf
    • HelveticaNeue-UltraLightItal.otf

    Running this command will show the list of .otf files you installed.

    dir c:\windows\fonts\helvetica*.otf

    (There zip file in the above website bundles 6 .otf files, which you need to delete from the Fonts folder.)

    Then run:

    del c:\windows\fonts\helvetica*.otf
