    Installing Refresh windows tool over a dodgy OS


    So i had a lovley new version of Windows 10 Home. It got ruined after malware and a failed factory reset and I am now looking at some dodgy Windows 7, 10 hybrid.


    In the reset process it also set up workplace group policies that established admin rights above my user profile...and alot of the Settings arr messed up.


    My questions is... Will executing the RefreshWindowsTool.exe fix all this. I have the key for a brand new Windows 10 at the ready but will it be able to establish a totally clean workspace as it came out the box.


    Before i even ran the tool i got a 'windows compatability mode: windows vista service pack 2 message which is not a good start...


    So i thought id come here ask the wise guys before I proceed.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    You should add VLC to that list. Plays most anything, except WMV/WMA.

    And are we sticking to free tools? Cause I have suggestions for some that cost money, but are well worth it IMHO.
