Windows 10: Installing USB printer on Synology NAS. Needs to find a driver from Windows Update.

Installing USB printer on Synology NAS. Windows 10 finds the printer on the network. Synology procedure says the correct driver has to download from Windows Update. I have 5 PCs. 3 of them searched Windows Update and found the correct driver. First of the other two found it after many tries. Number 5 is stuck asking for a driver from local files. It doesn't want to look in Windows Update. I have Windows 10 configured to search Windows Update for drivers. Is there a way to force a search in Windows Update?

Mac OSX USB printer problem

OK i just bought the Canon IP4500 usb printer and installed it on the mac following hte instructions to the letter.

No printer is found and i cannot add it in the Printer list, cause theres no option for USB printer installation, only Appletalk, Bluetooth, and Windows Printing.

I have downloaded the latest drivers etc... but no luck *Bang Head :banghead:

As it is i dont like macs but now with a simple thing as this i dislike them even more.

Last resort is trying installing the printer on a Vista pc and see if it works, if it does then the mac is up to shit, if it does not install then the printer is up to shit.

Anyone had a similar problem maybe and how did you overcome it?

 

Windows 7 wont install drivers

i dont think anyone here understands what your asking either when its nearly a 90% english dominated Tech forum.
Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.

 

Getting access to my data on Synology NAS


Hi, I have a problem with my Synology DS211j – please any help would be appreciated:
I bought the Synology NAS about a year ago but after setting-up the NAS I had a stroke :-(.
I am now trying to re-lean my NASs but am struggling with my Synology:
I can see the NAS has two disk – a 1Gb disk “Not installed”, and a 2Gb disk “Installed”. As I think I should have some important data, I need to work out what I have on the 2Gb disk or possible even on the 1 Gb disk?
So the 2Gb disk says it is installed but I don’t know how to get to the data from the disk (and I’m trying to be careful so that I don’t lose the data)?
ny advise on the steps on get ting access to the date would be really appreciated!
