Windows 10: Installing window subsystem for linux failed with this Error code:...

I was going to install Ubuntu for linux where I had to first install wslwindow subsystem for linux and i'm getting this errorWSL is finishing an upgrade... Update failed exit code: 1601. Error code: Wsl/CallMsi/Install/0x80070641

cannot install Windows Subsystem for Linux

I am using Windows 11 OS build 22631.3155 on a desktop PC. I was using Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) about two years without problem. I did a Windows Reset to remove malware and now WSL does not work.

If I click on Start > Ubuntu the error message is "WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x8007019e. Error: 0x8007019e The Windows Subsystem for Linux has not been enabled."

If I type 'wsl' in Windows PowerShell as administrator the error message is "Class not registered. Error code: Wsl/CallMsi/REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG."

I did enable WSL and Hyper-V in 'Turn Windows Features On Off'. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall WSL, and did Windows Reset multiple times including with remove all apps and all personal files.

Can anyone suggest a solution. Thanks for your help.
