Windows 10: Installing Windows 10 64-bit question

The closest I have found it to run the Windows Media Creation Tool... Which is apparently installing Windows 10. At no point did it ask me about 32 vs 64 bit. My PC is definitely in the 64 bit specs in every regard. What are the hoops I need to jump through? Windows has always been a joke. What do I need to do to make this become 64-bit? I am not sitting here watching it be stuck at 17% for an hour then be at 24% for an hour. Totally tired of their games. Is there a 64 bit installer somewhere? Or is it just keep re-installing Windows 10 until I hit the right series of options to make the 64-bit version happen?

Windows installed 32-bit version of Windows 10, when it should be 64-bit

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things:

• How did you upgrade to Windows 10?
• Have you checked under system info?

I suggest you to go to control panel and system and under system info check which bit is installed.

As your Windows 7 is running on 32 bit, Windows 10 will be installed as 32 bit architecture if you install Windows 10 through Windows updates. If you want to install Windows 10 64 bit, I suggest you to check whether your system
supports 32/64 bit architecture. If your computer supports 64 bit architecture, then i suggest you to refer the below link to install Windows 10 64 bit using the media creation tool.

Windows 10 Upgrade 32-bit to 64-bit

So, Windows 10 Upgrade is being rolled out worldwide, and I have 'reserved' my upgrade.

Currently my computer is running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I'm planning to 'upgrade' it to Windows 10 64-bit (via fresh install, of course).

After reading many references, these will be the steps I'll do:

1. Let the "Get Windows 10" app upgrade my OS to Windows 10 32-bit
   
2. Note the activation key
   
3. Download the Installation Media for Windows 10, but choosing 64-bit instead
   
4. Perform a clean install
   
5. Reactivate using the activation key in Step #2
   

(Of course I'll backup my data first.)

However, I still have some questions:

1. On Windows 7, the activation key does not differ between 32- or 64-bit versions. Is it still so with Windows 10?
   
2. Will I be able to download a different architecture on Step #3?
   
3. Is there anything I need to prepare beforehand?

but do you have 64 bit cpu? if you do it will work if you install 64 bit windows
