Installing Windows 10 in a dual boot tablet

    Hello!

I work in a computer store and a customer had a dual boot MLS Magic tablet which had Android and Windows. The problem was that the Windows partition (16GB) was almost full without having any applications installed! She asked if we could format the tablet, get rid of the Android and clean install Windows 10 only. Due to the lack of space starting the Windows Setup inside Windows was useless as we got stuck at the "free some space to continue" screen. After careful examination of the BIOS (F2 to enter), I saw that the timeout for boot selection was only 2 seconds, so no matter what the Boot priority was I could not boot from USB to Windows Setup (didn't have time to find the correct hotkey). I changed that to 8 seconds, so I had time to find out that the hotkey was F8 (FN+F8 in fact). So I managed to boot in UEFI mode GPT formatted USB Flash drive (see Rufus settings) and start Windows 10 Setup. After deleting almost 10 paritions, I finally had the whole 32GB space free to start installing Windows 10. No key required, it is taken automatically from Firmware. I'll let you know if I have some difficulties with drivers etc!

I just wanted to share this to help others facing the same issue.

    :)

Touchscreen not working after Windows 10 upgrade

    I have...well had...a chuwi vi10pro 64GB Rom/2GB Ram dual boot OS tablet with windows 8.1 (upgraded to Windows10) and Android 4.4.

I guess my question the tablet updated to windows 10 beautifully, after a while some if not most of my windows storage would get eaten up. I checked all throughout the tablet but nothing. I factory reset with windows 10 but after the factory and wipe of
the hard drive (which was probably my problem) my windows 10 no longer has the touch screen capability and also the android side is completely gone...

The windows 10 no longer has that "switch OS" icon anymore which my dual boot tablet did but no longer functions as a touch screen or a dual boot.

P.S...I luckily still have a keyboard with a touch pad for my tablet?

Could someone...anyone please help me out???

No, BIG mistake! I used Snappy Driver utility to find most drivers, but touch is not working properly (wrong area detected when tapping) and I have two camera devices that are not installed properly. I will try Windows Update just in case...

This refers to another tablet by Kruger & Matz, but I don't want to start a new thread just to give this info... I recently formatted a Kruger & Matz tablet and had problem with the touch drivers. I tried the touch driver from another Kruger & Matz model but they didn't work. Thankfully, unlike MLS, Kruger & Matz had their drivers available at their site, so I managed to make it work. But the point is the same. Avoid any driver tools such as Snappy at tablets! Make sure you have the manufacturer's drivers available for the specific model before you try formatting! If you cannot download them as in MLS case, then you better exporting them (as long as Windows installation works and you can do that). Once you have a backup of the drivers or you have downloaded them (especially the chipset, touch and G sensor drivers) then you are safe to begin. I learned my lesson... *Wink
