Windows 10: Installing Windows 11 on VMware player with ubuntu as host and windows 11 pre-installed...

Hi, I bought a Lenovo laptop a few weeks ago with windows 11 pre-installed. Afterwards, I installed ubuntu as most of my work requires Linux. However, I also want to run windows with VMware player, but not as a second OS directly on disk. How can I install windows 11 on my VMware player with the license which I already used to have?

Vmware ubuntu with windows 10 anniversary update

I have just installed Windows 10 anniversary update. I also run a virtual ubuntu machine (ubuntu 16) in vmware player 12. Since the windows 10 update, I am unable to load the virtual ubuntu os. The machine boots to the login screen. I then try to login and
get a black screen, the fan sounds like it is taking off and it never reaches the ubuntu desktop. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling vmware player but to no avail. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

 

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

 

VMware Player did not install correctly on Windows 10


That VMware player 2.5.5-328052 is dated back 2010ish.

You simply need to use at least an up-to-date VM Player release.
I would suggest you to try VM Player 7.1.3 (VMware-player-7.1.3-3206955) and you will vastly improve the chance to complete a Windows 10 installation successfully either running it in a host with Windows 10 and either if you need to install Windows 10 as a guest from a Windows 7/8 host.

Alternative you can use workstation player 12 but it's now repackaged more than as a 'trial' than a 'free' release.

But if you need to be sure you uninstalled correctly and fully your previous attempt with Player, I would suggest you to have a free trial with Revo Uninstaller / Iobit Uninstaller / CCleaner uninstall features (or any other 3rd party software) in order to clean all the registry traces and installation files.
