Windows 10: Installing Windows 11 with error 0xC1900209 solved

I'm not sure about the etiquette of posting a question and answering yourself but the aim is to provide a solution that worked for me. And in view of the plethora of unanswered questions about this error, it may be justifiable. I'm sure the moderators will jump in if necessary... My PC: Lenovo ThinkBook 15 G2 ITLModel: 20VE0004UKProcessor: 11th Gen IntelR CoreTM i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHzRam: 8.00 GB 7.79 GB usableSo I decided to upgrade to 11. Window 11 Installation Failure - 0xC1900209

Hi -

I am attempting to upgrade to Win11, but it continues to fail, with SetupDiag telling me this

The PC Health Check tells me my PC is windows 11-ready.

Possibly significant - When Windows 11 Setup says that it needs to restart my PC, it isn't restarted, but the Windows 11 Setup restarts immediately.

The full sequence is as follows:

Start the Installation Assistant (IA)

Gets to Step 3 of 3

Reaches 79% complete, then goes back to 0%

Reaches 80% complete, then goes back to 0%

Reaches 65% complete, then Windows 11 Setup starts.

Windows 11 Setup gets to the point where it says it needs to restart the PC.

Windows 11 Setup closes.

No restart occurs.

Windows 11 Setup restarts and goes through

Getting updates
Checking your PC
Getting a few things ready
Getting updates
- reaches 46% complete and stays there for some minutes
Making sure you're ready to install

Next thing is this:





Running SetupDiag gives the result above.

I cancel out, it cleans up, and I'm back to the beginning again.

I have tried everything I can find that might affect the installation, including

• There are no incompatibilities reported in any of the logs that I can find
  
• Clearing the update cache
  
• Removing BattlEye (which apparently used to stop some Win10 updates happening)
  
• Unplugging all non-essential USB devices
  
• Removed Acronis TrueImage 2017
  

How can I identify what is blocking this?

Edit: Lack of restart is from Win11 Setup, not the IA

 

Update from 1909 to 2004 fail for Error 0xc1900209

Ok some notes:
1 - regarding upgrade to 2204 also with clean boot receive error 0xc1900209
2 - so if is ok i can try with with install In-Place with iso 2004 ?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
