    Installing Windows 2010 so I can install Office


    My laptop died. I had it repaired and Windows 7 was gone. I purchased Office to install but needed Windows 2010. I bought Windows 2010 online but can’t install it. It keeps saying some components are missing. The repair person installed LibreOffice but it is deleting some coding tabs on articles I edit.

    Our IT department sent a note about home use (Office 365, specifically), and this warning:

    A suggestion... re-install Office 2010, then try to install 2013?

    • Did you have Microsoft Office 2010 starter installed on your computer in the past?

    Mostly OEM computers come with MS office starter pack preinstalled, if you had MS office installed on the computer in the past I would suggest you to follow the steps under the section
    Uninstall Office 2010 Click-to-Run products in the article below.

    Repair an Office application
