Windows 10: Installing Windows on a new SSD

Discus and support Installing Windows on a new SSD in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I'm wanting to install my OS on a new SSD, as well as my main programs and games.     Installing Windows on a new SSD


    I'm wanting to install my OS on a new SSD, as well as my main programs and games. My question is will my Hard Drive be accessible as a bulk storage device immediately, or will I need to back up the data and wipe it? I'd rather not take any risks by going ahead immediately, but I don't want to wait a week for the data to back up either.

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    Fresh Install of Windows 10 Home in new SSD

    I have this Dell N4010 Laptop that I want to upgrade with an SSD and use the existing HDD as Data drive. I have an original windows of digital license.

    Please suggest how I can install a fresh copy of the windows in my new SSD with the existing license. And please suggest how to activate the new installation of Windows.

    New windows 10 installtion on New SSD - wont boot unless old SSD present

    It seems you installed Windows while the both SSDs were connected. This would have caused your current problem. Maybe it is sufficient to do this:

    1. Launch the Disk Manager.
    2. Right-click drive C:, then mark it as "active".
    3. Shut down Windows
    4. Open the BIOS and tell it that the new SSD is the primary boot device.
    5. Disconnect the old SSD.
    6. Boot up normally.

    If this does not work then you might have to do this:

    1. Disconnect the old SSD.
    2. Re-install Windows on the new SSD, using the Media Creation Tool.
