Windows 10: Installing Windows to SSD

Discus and support Installing Windows to SSD in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; I had just finished installing Windows to my SSD when I realized I forgot to take the existing files on my HDD desktop install and moving them...     Installing Windows to SSD


    I had just finished installing Windows to my SSD when I realized I forgot to take the existing files on my HDD desktop install and moving them elsewhere. Are these files now lost, as Microsoft's wording when trying to reinstall Windows to my HDD is very ominous, as I can cannot "upgrade" from the bootable media.

    Edit: If it wasn't obvious, I DO wish to keep all the files currently on my HDD. If I have to sacrifice my desktop files for my ignornace then so be it.
