Windows 10: Installinga print driver for an EPSOM STYLUS SX105 Printer

I am trying to setup an epsom stylus SX105 printer and the error code 0x80131018 appears. I am using the EPSOM website so the sorftware should be valid. How do I fix this?

Disconnect printer

Now uninstall the software already installed from here:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features

And then restart PC

Now install using Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Now I have also found the drivers and software that states it is also for Windows 10. But the free download makes me suspicious it is 3rd party and might not be trusted or has malware or you have to pay for it. You do not need it anyways from here.

epsom xp 970 printer

I have a brand new Epsom XP 970 printer that prints device status pages continually. I went to customer support for Epsom and a tech walked me through several steps to try to fix the problem. To no avail. Finally the tech said I should contact MICROSOFT

because its an issue with them.

I inherited an Epson Stylus Pro9600(~2003) and would like to get it working for a local non-profit.

• I downloaded the last driver available from the epson site. It was for Windows XP (64-bit)

• Ran setup in "compatibility" mode for running the older driver and it said the driver was installed correctly.
• Try to print and the new printer is not available to print from.
• Checking in the control panel>hardware> "Devices and Printers" the Epson (showing as 'usb2.0 printer') is in the "unspecified Devices" section rather than the "printers" one.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
