Windows 10: Integral Microphone not working

I can not get my integral microphone to work. When I carry out a test it doesn't work

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

Method 1: I suggest you to set microphone as default device and check.

• 
  Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices"
  
• 
  Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
  
• 
  Right click on Microphone and then click "Enable".
  
• 
  Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
  
• 
  Click Apply and OK.
  

Step 2: Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.

  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled. Follow the steps given to check that:
  
• 
  Right click on the volume icon and select “Recording devices”.
  
• 
  Now, Right Click on an empty space and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.
  
• 
  Make sure that the Microphone is not disabled.
  

And also update the audio drivers from the manufacturer web site and install.

Integrated Microphone does not work

What do you mean when you say 'microphone is not working'? Is it unable to pick up the voice or is not detected at all as a device in your PC?

You can go through the below steps to check if the Microphone volume is set correct.

1. Right click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select the Recording Devices menu.

2. In the Recording tab of Sounds window, you will notice the microphone which is active, i.e. the one with a green tick mark. Right click on the active microphone and select its
Properties.

2. Select the Levels Tab. This tab exhibits you two sections: Microphone
and Microphone Boost.

4. Use the sliders to modify your volume settings. You can take the Microphone Boost slider up to +40 dB. To save the changes click on Ok.

If the above does not apply, refer to the below methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1

Before we proceed any further, right click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select the
Recording Devices menu. Do you see the microphone device listed?

Note: If the device does not appear in the first place, you need to right click on an empty space in
Recording Devices menu and select, “Show disconnected devices” and “Show disabled devices”.

Method 2

Check your microphone’s drivers

• 
  Type in “Device Manager” in the Search box and select it from the list.
  
• 
  Expand Sound, video and game controllers
  
• 
  Right-click (or tap and hold) your microphone device and select
  Update Driver Software.
  
• 
  Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
  This option will scan the Internet for the correct version of the driver or determine if you already have the most recent driver installed.
  You may be prompted to restart your computer to install the driver.

I suggest you to run the microphone troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Type “Troubleshooter” in the search box and press Enter.
• Click on ‘View All’ on the top left corner.
• Click on “Recording Audio” from the list and follow the prompts for troubleshooting.
