Windows 10: Integrated and External Keyboard

Hi,


I have a very strange problem with a friends laptop. I had upgraded his HDD to an SSD and installed the latest version of Windows 10 2004, and for some reason some of the keys dont work, if I press a key individually it wont type, even after pressing the key multiple times it may only type it once, same with Win+E/R sometimes it will work and others not, its incredibly fustrating. I also tried an external USB keyboard and literally the same results. I left it for a day and I thought maybe its a compatibility problem with the SSD, so I installed the old HDD again and it all worked fine, so I reinstalled the new SSD and again it worked fine. I continued to replace all the documents they had from the old HDD to the new SSD as I saw all the keys were responding normally, but after all the data had been transfered the keyboard starting acting up again. This is a new SSD and a new keyboard too. I have tried re installing drivers etc and same problem, it seems to me that when the laptop has been working for a while and starts heating up it starts to give me these problems.


Any ideas or suggestions?

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

• 
  Press Windows key + R to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.

Keyboard letters problem

Here are the first two steps you need to take:

• Try a different keyboard (or an external USB keyboard in case of a laptop)
• See if the problem persists with the on-screen keyboard (osk.exe)
