Windows 10: Integrated Webcam (Code 45) After Windows 10 Update

Hi, I've never posted looking for help for something like this, so I apologize if this is in the wrong community.

I recently did a Windows 10 update on my Alienware 15 (x64). Prior to the update, my integrated webcam worked normally. However, last night I had my first class since I updated, and my camera does not work. In device manager, I receive: "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." In the camera app, it's "We can't find your camera error code: 0xA00F4244 <NoCamerasAreAttached>"

To view the camera in device manager, it only appears when I choose view > show hidden devices. Then it is listed under Cameras > Integrated Webcam, but the webcam icon is greyed out. My driver is up to date, and I cannot roll back the driver. I am also unable to disable the device. I tried uninstalling the device, but when I rebooted my computer, Windows did not automatically reinstall it, and it disappeared from device manager altogether, even when view hidden devices is turned on. It only returned to device manager after I reinstalled Windows 10.

So far I have:

• Installed all available updates
• Updated BIOS
• Ensured that all app permissions are turned on for the camera
• Tried updating the driver (unsuccessful, most recent driver already installed)
• Tried uninstalling the device (unsuccessful, removed the device completely, needed to reinstall Windows to restore)
• Searched for driver updates using drive booster (none found)
• Reset camera app
• Checked my firewall to make sure it isn't blocking the camera (webcam does not appear anywhere in the list)
• Ran repair PC Registry
• Windows 10 reinstall

Obviously, none of this has worked. For some reason, the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter is also not available for me. Does anyone have any advice for fixing this? I'm supposed to be presenting research at an online conference this weekend, so this is a really horrible time to have webcam issues.

In Device Manager... My Integrated Webcam is labeled as "not connected" Code 45

The error Code 45 might have occurred if a device that was previously connected to the computer is no longer connected. For us to efficiently assist you, we would like to know if there were any changes made on your computer prior to the
issue.

I suggest you to update the driver for webcam from the manufacturer website or by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager.
• Expand the driver for webcam.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update the driver.
