Windows 10: Intel 8th Gen Support on Upcoming Windows 11 v24H2 Release

Hello Microsoft Community,I contacted Microsoft Support a few minutes ago regarding concerns about Intel 8th Gen Support on the next major update to Windows 11 v24H2 and they told me to put up a post on the Microsoft Community Website about this.I have a Dell OptiPlex 3060 with an Intel Core i5-8500And trying to get a laptop with an Intel Core i5-8265UMaybe an Intel Core i5-8365U?I’m hoping Microsoft Developers will be able to keep me up to date on what’s happening with Intel 8th Gen CPU Support because I can’t afford to buy new computers since I haven’t owned my desktop and very soon my lap

Why Windows 11 doesnt support 7th gen intel processors

I have Intel Pentium 4415U(2.3 ghz/2 cores,4 threads/kaby-lake(7th gen), release date 2017). But windows 11 only support 8th gen and above processors, I don't know why my processors support tpm 2.0 too.7th gen processors aren't bad at all.

Most users are not eligible for this reason. I'm not being rude I'm just saying my opinions

Windows 11 Intel 7th gen CPU support

Thank you, I see my Cpu are not included on supported Cpu list, but Microsoft doesn't explain why. As you can see on picture above, this processor has VBS hardware support.

UPD: Never mind, I just found this article about 7th gen processors support, so maybe it will be supported in the future.

"Using the principles above, we are confident that devices running on Intel 8th generation processors and AMD Zen 2 as well as Qualcomm 7 and 8 Series will meet our principles around security and reliability and minimum system requirements for Windows 11. As we release to Windows Insiders and partner with our OEMs, we will test to identify devices running on Intel 7th generation and AMD Zen 1 that may meet our principles."

Hi, Windows 11 requires 8th gen Intel processors or above. There were a small number of 7th gen deemed to be meeting the Windows 11 hardware requirements, but there will be no more lesser than 8th gen processors added to the list.
