    Intel driver updates make my dell screen go blank


    Every few days windows10 updates my intel video driver to a new version which does not work on my Dell Inspiron desktop PC So I have to reinstall an old version which does.

    How do I stop this happening. I have uninstalled both the Dell and Intel update apps and set my Device Installation Settings to no automatic downloads.

    Still the updates occur.


    this from my event log after one of these driver updates.

    Driver Management concluded the process to install driver k127153.inf_amd64_364f43f2a27f7bd7 for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_5A84&SUBSYS_075F1028&REV_0B\3&11583659&0&10 with the following status: 0x0.


    Does anyone know how to stop these driver updates?

    Blank Screen

    Windows 10 Upgrade - Blank screen at startup on HP and Dell laptops

    I have an HP notebook dv76067 and a Dell laptop E6420. Both with two graphic cards (AMD and NVidia).

    Upgrading on Dell seems to fail as I only see a blank screen forever.

    Upgrading the HP was better but for some reason it shows blank screen for 2 minutes at each startup before showing me the login screen.

    I have the latest and greatest Video drivers installed for AMD Radeon 6700M and Intel HD Graphics 3000.

    Booting in safe mode is much quicker.

    I tried clean install on both but on HP the symptoms remain.

    However, Dell booted fine until the automatic windows update installed the latest drivers for Intel an NVidia and back to blank screen forever.

    I was expecting a better upgrade experience this time with Windows 10.

    I have gone back to Windows 8 for now.

    Anyone else having similar issues ? Workarounds?

    Startup error on discontinued Intel driver

    Hi David,

    Windows 10 update remove the Intel WiDi driver due to compatibility issue. We suggest uninstalling the Intel WiDi driver from Control Panel to avoid it from showing up every time you start your computer. To do this, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Click Programs.
    • Choose Programs and Features.
    • Click Intel (R) WiDi Driver and hit Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer.
