Windows 10: intel i7-6500 @2.50GHz is not compatible in PC checker??

Anyone know why my processor is not compatible, or if it is, how to get Windows to acknowledge that? Thanks.

Which cooler is best for Intel i7 ?

Okay this is Noctua's CPU compatibility list for Intel i7 10700KF notice 2 things next to NH-U12A it is compatible and can go full throttle with this cooler even a third thing no kit shown needed for mounting listed next to this cooler.




About maybe 1/4" of room before it hits window,Hyper 212 now.
Higher NSPR number the better

 

Intel - Core i7-9700K motherboard compatibility

Hi all, looking to upgrade my build to an Intel - Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor but basically every motherboard I plop into pcpartpicker seems to give me this error

• Some Intel B360/H310/Z370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

Not really sure what to do or what motherboard to choose. I don't really want to spend a lot of money or do anything fancy, just something that works with my CPU is all I need. Even when I pick motherboards that pcpartpicker says are compatible, I get this message. I'm scared of buying the wrong one and destroying my parts lol. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Which cooler is best for Intel i7 ?

I never said it "needed" a kit, just that that's how cooler companies adjust for newer sockets.
Like they did for my Hyper 212 EVO on the AM4 socket.
