    Intel R PCIe x16 - 1901 keeps malfunctioning


    Hello. This happened to me while i was in a Dota 2 match. The game crashed - leading to pc crash. Since then, i was facing DXGKRNL Fatal error and DPC-Warchdog-Violation. 1- I did system reset kept files2- I did window again deleted everything3- I downgraded to windows 104- i re updates to windows 11But nothing worked. After four days, i realized that this driver Intel R CPEi x16 - 1901 prevents my Nvidia Gtx 1650ti from starting during the game, which leads to crash. Even if the driver is installed properly. During the game, it malfunctions and yellow exclamation mark appears before

    Sudden I/O Port conflict Windows 10

    been recently having sudden conflicts with my drivers and it screws up my displays. I've deleted my NVidia drivers and redownloaded/installed them. No hardware changes occurred, I did download some updates to Adobe products, Autodesk and an automatic

    Thanks for the response.

    I did uninstall that particular Windows update several times but it didn't resolve the issue. When I searched for the Display Adapter I discovered the Intel(R) PCIe Controller (x16) - 190 had the orange triangular hazard symbol displayed against it. I updated
    the driver, restarted, went back in to the Device Manager and found it now displayed Intel(R) Xeon(R) E3 - 1200/1500 v5/6th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) PCIe Controller (x16) - 1901.

    This has resolved the issue and my graphics hardware is discoverable and all other features are again functioning.

    Using a PCIe x1 card in a PCIe x16 slot


    Here is something I recently found out. I have tired this and it works.

    You can use a PCIe x1 card, or a PCIe x4 card in a PCIe x16 slot. They work fine. So if you think you are short of PCI-e slots, you may not be. A shorter PCIe card works fine in a longer slot.

    On PCIe X1, X4 and X16 slots, the first 18 pins are all wired the same, so as long as the PCI-Express card fits in the PCI-Express slot, it should work.

    This is not the case for the legacy PCI (32-bit, non-express) slots, that are not PCI-Express. Those are not compatable with PCIe cards.

    The top four slots, in the picture above, are, from the top to bottom,
    PCIe x4 slot , PCIe x16 slot, PCIe x1 slot and another PCIe x16 slot. A PCIe card that can physically fit in any of these slots will work, even if it doesn't fill the entire slot.

    The bottom, 5th slot, is a PCI legacy (32-bit) slot. PCIe (express) cards will not work in this slot. It only accepts legacy PCI cards.
