    Intel RST Service - application/GUI problem


    Windows 10, 64-bit.


    The desktop taskbar icon says that the Intel RST service is not running and I can’t get the application (or at least the UI) to open.


    The thing is that the service IS running (as per Task Manger etc), consuming CPU merrily. I tested this by unplugging one of my RAID 1 drives, causing the info on the RST display at startup to report status as “degraded”, then plugging back in which changed status to “rebuild” and then (eventually) back to “normal”. So, all’s well with the actual operation of RAID.


    Installed Intel Driver & Support Assistant, which says that everything is up-to-date.


    Can anyone help me with the problem here with the application/UI?

    Same situation here - Intel RST running a cache SSD under Windows 7 Pro, now not working properly after Windows 10 upgrade. Notification icon says "not running" and double clicking on it fails to open the Intel application. The service is however still running
    and a check via Task Manager / Processes shows it taking about 20% of processor use about every five seconds.

    Intel's Driver Update Utility fails to identify the RST driver, so I've manually downloaded the updated Intel RST driver (14.5.0.1081 - stated as being suitable for Windows 10) from the Intel website. Should I simply install the new driver (SetupRST.exe)?
