Windows 10: Intel RST unable to install

Hi so i’m currently trying to install a new copy of windows onto my desktop pc.The issue is that i can get as far as the setup when it says the intel RST drivers are missing. I have tried a multitude of different drivers now and it says they are all outdated. The thing is i don’t have another windows machine to get these drivers from only a m2 mac.My desktop machine cpu is an intel i5-9400f.Any help would be appreciated i have been trying to solve this for hours i even tried moving down to windows 10 to see if it would work and no luck

You can follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Changing the startup type for Service

You can try changing the startup type for the Intel RST service and check if that makes a difference. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type serivces.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, scroll down, look for Intel RST service, right click on it and click on
   Properties.
   
4. Now, under startup type select Automatic from the drop down menu.
   
5. Click on Apply and OK.
   

Method 2: Updating the drivers manually

You can try downloading the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage Driver from the

Intel Website and check if that helps. However, I would suggest checking with the motherboard manufacturer website as well.

intel rst driver

i dont have win 10 installed so cannot try... does intel rst works? i have found that it is much faster then MS default drivers with 97 boards with win 8.1. Not so much in benchmarks, but in practice win 8.1 boots much faster with iastora.sys then benchmarks
difference suggests.

 

Attn Microsoft and ASUS | Intel RST driver unable to install on ASUS Z390 Motherboards F6 and Intel RST driver won't install

Dear Microsoft as well as ASUS,

Since the recent release of Windows 10 22H2 as well as Windows 11 22H2, I am having issues installing the Intel RST software
for my ASUS Z390-F motherboard. The Intel RST driver available on ASUS website was version 17.5.0.1017 so when I:
- Windows F6 installation will prompt that "We couldn't install the ______________ device driver. Contact your vendor for an updated driver. "
- Intel RST software won't install, it will take considerable long time before there is a fatal error.

Windows will BOSD shortly after the installation stops with inaccessible boot device error.

After going back and forth with ASUS technical support which they are not helpful as well as didn't understand the problem.
ASUS even ask me to install previous Windows 10 21H2 than update to 22H2 just to make the driver which doesn't make any sense.
I assume the motherboard had issues so I replaced it with ASUS Maximus XI Hero.

ASUS Maximus XI Hero has a updated Intel RST driver 17.9.4.1017 than ASUS Z390-F but the same issue occur that it refuse to install.
I seriously do not understand what ASUS Z390 Motherboard Intel RST software cannot be installed.
The irony is that I have older PC for example Intel 4th generation based PC and manufacturer had a available Intel RST software
for download.

For the older Intel 4th generation based PC I had no problem install the Intel RST software for Windows 10 22H2 version despite
such drivers are very old.
I suspect could be Intel optane component that comes with these versions of Intel RST software that conflicted with the Windows 10 22H2.
I even tried Windows 11 22H2 but the same thing will occur so could anyone explain what is the issue here?
