Windows 10: Intel RST VMD driver getting messed up with Bitlocker decryption

Good evening! I am curious if anyone else has ran into bitlocker DECRYPTION and Intel RST VMD Managed controller 09AB compatibility issues? My perfom diag report is throwing the code in the screenshot at the bottom. I reinstall windows and do all the updates and it works great and restarts fine. Then I do a few tuneup items uninstall bloat apps, clear caches and temp files, install Malwarebytes and also decrypted the drive from bitlocker and I restart it, and it will not restart. The BIOS can still see hard drive, but every time it crashes on restart AFTER I do my tuneup items includin

The best option is to download the Intel RST VMD driver form the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, that would be the most compatible version of that driver and can be usually found in the Chipset section

If you still cannot find that driver, Intel provide a version of the Intel RST VMD driver on this link on their website (bottom option)

Bitlocker Stuck Decrypting

@rinconmike For future reference, instead of using the TASK MANAGER to restart, you can simply hold CTRL + SHIFT and right click on blank space on the Task bar, to bring up 'Exit Explorer'. Another option is to use software.

Intel RST service is not running

The Intel RST service is for the Intel Rapid Storage Driver. The Intel Rapid Storage Driver provides speed for data transfer and improves the performance for SATA drives or PCIe drives.

You can follow the methods mentioned below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Changing the startup type for Service

You can try changing the startup type for the Intel RST service and check if that makes a difference. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press and hold Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type serivces.msc and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, scroll down, look for Intel RST service, right click on it and click on
   Properties.
   
4. Now, under startup type select Automatic from the drop down menu.
   
5. Click on Apply and OK.
   

Method 2: Updating the drivers manually

You can try downloading the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage Driver from the

Intel Website and check if that helps. However, I would suggest checking with the motherboard manufacturer website as well.
