Windows 10: Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB COM PROBLEMAS

Em um relatório foi apontado erro no Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB, plug and play desse dispositivo é PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_09AB&SUBSYS_16161025&REV_00\3&11583659&0&30. Tambem apareceu o PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_09AB&SUBSYS_16161025&REV_00\3&11583659&0&B8. O consumo de memoria ta muito elevado sem nada aberto ou instalado. apresenta tela azul constante ou simplesmente apaga a tela.

Performance Monitor: A device has reported a 'Not OK' status (Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB)

I recently purchased a new DELL Alienware Aurora R13 computer (Windows 11 Home) and ran the Performance Monitor just to status it. I got the following error:

[table][tr][td][table][tr][td]The device, Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB, is reporting a bad status value. This device will not be available until the issue is resolved. The Plug and Play ID for this device is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_09AB&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_00\3&11583659&0&30.[/td][/tr][/table]

Over in the device manager, Storage Controllers, Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB Properties, the device status is listed as:

"No drivers are installed for this device."





But, if you check the driver tab, you can see that the device is installed:





I checked with the Alienware support team and they are convinced that there's nothing wrong and that this is a bug in Windows. They say the correct driver is installed (there is no updated driver, either).

The bug, according to them, is that the device is incorrectly reporting a bad status (indicating that the device is not there), when in fact it should be reporting:
"The device is working properly."

Has anyone else seen this and/or is this a known problem in Windows 11? Even though the device appears to be working just fine, I want to make sure that this is indeed the correct driver for this controller.

The best option is to download the Intel RST VMD driver form the support page for your PC on the manufacturers website, that would be the most compatible version of that driver and can be usually found in the Chipset section

If you still cannot find that driver, Intel provide a version of the Intel RST VMD driver on this link on their website (bottom option)

Frequent Crashes on Windows 11 Laptop. Maybe Optane Memory Related?

No problem. I assume everyone's busy around the holiday. I went ahead and disabled 'Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB' in the device manager. Now what? Just wait and see if my laptop crashes again?

Update #1: As soon as I posted this it crashed again. I hadn't restarted after disabling 'Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB' though so I don't know if the disable had taken effect yet.

Update #2: Just crashed again. 'Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB' still disabled so I guess it can be ruled out as the culprit?
