    Intel - System - 5/4/2017 12:00:00 AM - 11.0.0.1013 auto installed

I arrived home from work several hours ago and images were not displaying on some web pages, noticed defaults had been changed for .jpeg's from Irfan to MS photo, and a few other image extensions as well. Assumed a new update was pushed through, correctly.

    Update History reports:
    "Intel - System - 5/4/2017 12:00:00 AM - 11.0.0.1013
    Successfully installed on 8/6/17"
looking in update history I found a similar:
    "Intel - System - 4/4/2017 12:00:00 AM - 11.7.0.1014 successfully installed on 7/21/2017"
---I do not find any other similar updates or any updates without the KP assigned

I upgraded to windows 10 when it first rolled out as well, seems like forever ago.

Latest updates occurred on 7/14/2017, per Update History in settings:
    -Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool for Windows 8, 8.1, 10 and Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016 x64 Edition - July 2017 (KB890830)
-2017-07 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4025376)
    -2017-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4025339)
-2017-07 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4025376)
    -2017-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4025339)
    -2017-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4025339)
    (yes, shown twice)
all report Successfully installed on 7/14/2017

Last updates per Update History occurred on 7/14/17 there were two:
"Security Update for Adobe Flash Player"
"Security update for Microsoft Windows KB4025339"
    Both Successfully installed

I had been using Irfan for default image extensions and many had been changed to ms photos, which I changed back.

I have never been able to change my Active Hours for update purposes to more than 12 hours and as of today I cannot change active hours at all which is new today.

My icon for network has disappeared from notification area although shows as on in settings. *found a fix here for this, starting in safe mode did the trick, and added the open in safe mode option to my logon screen from same as well.

Who knows what else. I googled this update, looked in MS pages and all I find are issues related to similar, not exact and not recent, updates which do not have the "KP" designation, obviously. I tried to check for new updates in settings and the icon just spins and spins, stopped it about 20 mins or so in.

What am I up against here, has my auto updates been compromised? This is the first time for this, and I have no special tweaks to updates at all. Updates have caused disruption with desktop icons previously, even MS Office 15 from disc direct from MS through an incentive program, which I since dumped for Libre Office mainly for space saving,

    And just for good measure:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro

And, now I am getting CAPTCHA's when I open a new browser window, and click on the Item I want to be directed too, which is a tad annoying, to say the least.

Looks like I will be up for a while, is anyone else? I will update with any pertinent finds.

Bob's possible ode to his computer:
I didn't mean to treat you so bad
You shouldn't take it so personal
I didn't mean to make you so sad
You just happened to be there, that's all

Conexant update is reinstalled every time I boot the system

I have an HP Envy laptop that was affected by the keylogger problem last month. A new version of Conexant was installed by Windows Update on 5/14. Since then, every time WU looks for updates, it reinstalls the same Conexant update and requires a restart.

    The first update:

    Conexant - MEDIA - 5/14/2017 12:00:00 AM - 9.0.134.1

    Successfully installed on 5/14/2017

27 updates later (it often reinstalls multiple times per day):

    Conexant - MEDIA - 5/14/2017 12:00:00 AM - 9.0.134.1

    Successfully installed on 6/4/2017

How do I get Windows to realize that it's already been updated and stop it from updating each time I boot the system?

    Thanks!

    Intel - System - 5/4/2017 12:00:00 AM - 11.0.0.1013 auto installed

I have cleared the CAPTCHA issue.
Cleared the icon issue with this tutorial: Network missing from taskbar - grayed out in settings Solved - Windows 10 Forums -THANX DavidHK
I can change the times for active hours, still for not longer than 12 hrs.
Images on web pages working as if Irfan and have reset the defaults,
    Update History now shows:
    Intel - System - 5/4/2017 12:00:00 AM - 11.0.0.1013 as successfully installed on 8/6/17
Also, just checked and tried checking for new updates and received this, so I will do a restart shortly and post results of this: "We can't install some updates because other updates are in progress. Restarting your computer may help, and we'll keep trying to update."
