Hello LeonAm,



Does the problem still persist? or is it solved in the meanwhile?

I myself use Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology for 2 mayor reasons: it’s a huge performance leap for graphics if needed, but when your actual workload doesn’t require the power, the heat production is substantially reduced, like as if the processor makes
an afternoon power nap, so to speak.



Next to the Anniversary Update, one of my first priorities was to install the package properly, because of its obvious advantages.



My processor is an Intel Core i7-2670QM with 6M Cache, and boosts up to 3.10 GHz.



The Turbo Boost versions I am aware of, are 2.0, 2.6 and 3.0 (the last one has already a version update and is only serving the “Extreme” range of Intel’s i7 processors.



As I was a little bit worried for the risk of “blowing-up” my Core system, I gambled to work from the bottom up, so I downloaded the version showing on the next line;

Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.0

Cross-check on Intel's website if your processor is compatible with this software version.

First check your x32 or x64 requirements. This of course is essential.



But before proceeding, I would advise you to uninstall any higher Turbo Boost version you can find on your system through the regular “uninstall” procedure.



As always, you need to perform a full backup as you wouldn’t put your system in jeopardy.



As this solution worked for me, I presume this is more than an educated guess.
