Windows 10: Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller 10.0.26100.2161 date 10/18/2024 Asus Xonar AE...

Ever since this update I lose audio when my computer goes to sleep. This is because I use an ASUS Xonar AE PCIe sound card which internally makes use of this driver.The Xonar card is nowhere to be found in Device Manager, and scanning for 'New Hardware' does not solve the issue.I have traced the problem to this driver. After waking from sleep, and having no audio, if I remove this driver the audio returns although I no longer have a working mouse or keyboard.My motherboard is an ASUS Prime X299-A motherboard, and I'm running Windows 11.

I understand your concern and frustration you have been through. I will be glad to assist you.

Follow the Methods below.

Method 1: Run power troubleshooter.

a. Press Windows +R key on the keyboard.

b. Type troubleshooting in the pop-up box and press Enter.

c. Click System and Security on left panel.

d. Click Power, new window will popup.

e. Follow the on screen instructions.

Method 2: update Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver from this link.

Method 3: Compatibility mode

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - is immediately waking from sleep

New desktop computer to me. Full reset done.

Computer wakens ~15 seconds after Sleep

powercfg -lastwake confirms:

Wake Source Count - 1

Wake Source [0]

Type: Device

Instance Path: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A36D&SUBSYS_50071458&REV_10\3&11583659&0&A0

Friendly Name: Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft)

In Device manager for this controller, power management tab has "allow this device to wake computer" is greyed out.

HOW DO I Un-GREY THIS SO I CAN DISABLE WAKE FORM SLEEP?

Note, I also have Nvida USB 3.10 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.10 (Microsoft) - it does not have a Power Management tab

What are the consequences of disabling either of the above? Would all USB ports be disabled?

Attempted work arounds

Power Options / Advanced power options

Allow wake timers disabled

Hybrid Sleep Off

Checked drivers for both devices - both up to date.

I use Sleep virtually every day. This is infuriating

Suggestions appreciated
