Windows 10: Intel wifi card can't see the networks after windows update

I have a Lenovo G50-80 notebook. When I do a fresh install, I can see my Huawei router's 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless networks. After Windows finishes updating and installs the Intel network driver, I can no longer see the networks. If I delete the driver from the Device Manager and then search for hardware changes, the networks become visible again. However, Windows Update installs the driver again, and I lose the networks once more. Any idea? I do not want to turn off the Windows Update.

I'll tell you how I fixed an identical problem on a ASUS laptop that had run perfectly on Windows 7 and ran well on W10 from January until the Anniversary update in early August. I tried everything I found on this forum and two others. Nothing worked. The last thing someone suggested was disabling the adapter and using a WiFi dongle. Problem continued. Nobody suggested changing the wireless network adapter. I bought and installed an Intel 7260 WiFi card and just used the driver which was downloaded on the reboot after the install. All problems solved!!

I must have wasted two months reading and trying everything. Even the manufacturer support inferred I needed a new machine though they sent me a Windows 8.1 driver to try, with the same result.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to determine if they white list any cards and see if they have suggestions for a compatible card. They may want you to buy another laptop but if the cards aren't white listed, a simple card swap to one compatible with Windows 10 seems to be the answer.

 

External USB WiFi antenna doesn't see a network, but integrated does

External USB WiFi antenna doesn't see a network, but integrated wifi card does, even though it has a much lower range! It makes absolutely no sense, why wouldn;t the stronger antenna list this netowrk? I really need to connect to it in order to use the internet properly...

I tried disabling and uninstalling the internal Intel N-1000 WiFi card, and nothing changes...

 

problems with Intel 4965agn wifi card - Windows 10 Pro

I recently upgraded from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Sony Vaio VGN-FZ290 laptop. The machine went through the Microsoft testing OK prior to the update. After update I am getting periodic blue screens with error "IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQ..."

Also, now am unable to access network drives from this computer. I receive error message for this that "one or more network protocols is missing from this computer."

I have tried all suggested fixes for these problems already on the forum. I believe the problem is the driver for the Intel WiFi card 4965agn. There is no Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 driver for this card that I can find.

Anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you!
