  1. Intel X540-T1 Windows 10 PRO 22H2 Driver

I have Windows 10 PRO 22H2 19045.2913 installed on a SuperMicro X10SRL-F motherboard latest BIOS and drivers in a PCI Gen3 x8 slot I set the slot to Gen2 in BiOS and no change. The version 28 Feb 2022 drivers from Intel install and I am able to surf without issues. The problem is that I can't get more that 1Gb speed on the card. It is connected to a Netgear 10Gb unmanaged switch at 10Gb with a CAT 6A 14ft cable. I have tested two different cables and no change.Testing it to an iPerf3 local server CentOS 7 with another X540 installed. I can't get past 2Gbs using the switch and also us

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Pro Build 1709 + Intel X540-T1 10 GbE Copper Adapter = Disaster

    Redirecting

This is a continuation of the above thread. It looks like the poster "Otto-Peter" never found a solution, despite having gone through support channels with Microsoft or Intel (or if if he did, he never updated the thread).

    Basically to summarise

    - 6 machines running Windows 10 Pro Build 1709

Hardware spec: i7 7900x CPU, Asus X299-A Motehrboard, 128 GB RAM, Samsung 960 Evo 500 GB NVMe M.2 Drive, 650W PSU, GeForce 1080 GTX GPU

    - All machines are connected to a Netgear XS712T 12 port 10-gigabit switch.

    - All machines are running latest versions of windows (Build 1709 at the time of this posting)

    Troubleshooting steps so far:

    - Tried TWO different switches (1 which is a 48 port 1 gbps HP Procurve) and one which is a 52 port Cisco tried

    - Intel Drivers are up to date

    - Power plan set to "High performance" and power saving features (eg PCI-e link state power management) disabled

    - Latest Windows updates

    - Ran iPerf for 15-20 minute stretches pushing the cards to close to 100% util. Does not cause the card to drop so I don't suspect overheating.

On average across those 6 machines, I will get one or two dropping off the network every day. It re-connects after some seconds but as you can imagine this is very annoying.

I am fairly positive this is a Windows 10 issue because we've got the very same cards in our ESXi servers and the don't experience any issues. It's either some sort of weird inter op issue with
Win 10 <-> X540-T1 or alternatively something else like the card is getting too hot... but I don't think its overheating because if it was it'd tell me in the event log rather than just disconnecting, and it'd show up during my iPerf3 load testing as well.

Any help / insights welcome at this point...

Startup error on discontinued Intel driver

    Hi David,

Windows 10 update remove the Intel WiDi driver due to compatibility issue. We suggest uninstalling the Intel WiDi driver from Control Panel to avoid it from showing up every time you start your computer. To do this, kindly follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X on your keyboard.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Click Programs.
    • Choose Programs and Features.
    • Click Intel (R) WiDi Driver and hit Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer.

    Let us know goes.
