  1. Intell HD Graphics only support DX 10, even with DX 11 installed?

So I encountered a problem I never read about before. A game I got from the Windows app store says on startup that I need DX 11 or higher to play then close the game. OK, checked my DX version, have 11.1, but in the feature levels I have this:

    Feature Levels: 10.1,10.0,9.3,9.2,9.1

So my graphics card only supports up to DX 10.1 games, right? *Confused

My Graphics card is a Intel® HD Graphics, 2nd generation, I believe.

    :)

Games dont work on DX 10 +

After Creators Fall Update of Windows 10 64 bit , games which require DirectX 10 and 11 don't work . If an option for DX 9 is available , they work . But not every game has this option I thought NVidia driver was the culprit but on Intel HD 3000 the game
    didn't work either .

tried reinstalling DX 11 to no avail . Repairing games didn't help as well

    Error codes :

    0xc0000005 - DX 11

no video just sound - DX 10

    CPU i3 2350M

    RAM 4GB

    GPU GT 520MX

  3. how do you get directx 11 in Windows 10

No. The HD 5xxx series (f.i. HD 5200) is the first to support DX 11.

Intell HD Graphics only support DX 10, even with DX 11 installed?

    The game refuses to run?

It's possible that it requires DX11 hardware features. It would have been considerate of the game maker to mention that detail.

Intel onboard graphics are not known for having a lot of capability for gaming, but that may be OK if you're not trying to run the latest graphically intensive game.

  5. Its this game: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store...r/9wzdncrdn28d

    It's a 2D runner type game i think.

Says nothing about DX 11 on the page.

Very interesting. But stupid. (Apologies to Arte Johnson.)

The MS Store page says that the game is for Windows 8. Win 8 supports DX 11. It seems really unusual that it would require DX11 hardware, as it looks like a 2D game.

The web page of the game developer is almost a signboard; no additional info there. Maybe their Facebook page has more.

I see that save games require a Facebook account. I know that most people have one (I am an exception), but I suppose there is some sort of marketing push in that requirement.

A quick look at the reviews for it mentions in-game purchases.

You may have dodged a bullet with this one.

You can find out what version of DX (DirectX) your GPU runs by right clicking the Start button, and in the Run box, type "DXDIAG" without the quotes. You should get this box....

Intell HD Graphics only support DX 10, even with DX 11 installed? [IMG]

The Display tab will show your card and driver version....

And yes, even though Windows 10 is DX12 capable, you'll need the trifecta of DX12 to run in DX12 Mode. In other words in order for a game to run in DX12 mode the game, OS, and GPU must be DX12 capable. If any of these items are lower that DX12, the DX mode will run in one of the three's lowest setting. I.E. your GPU and OS is 12, but the game is 9... you'll be running in DX9 mode.
