Windows 10: Intermittent error when using symstore to upload debug symbols

Hi,We're seeing some intermittent errors when trying to use symstore to upload debug symbols to a shared drive in our CI system. The output from the commandSYMSTORE MESSAGE: 0 alternate indexers registered SYMSTORE MESSAGE: LastId.txt reported id 0 SYMSTORE MESSAGE: History.txt reported id 0 SYMSTORE MESSAGE: Existing logs reported id 1773 SYMSTORE MESSAGE: Final id is 0000001773 The parameter is incorrect. SYMSTORE: Number of files stored = 0 SYMSTORE: Number of errors = 0 SYMSTORE: Number of files ignored = 0 SYMSTORE ERROR: Class: Server. Desc: Couldn't get transaction id from <path>

How can I diagnose a SymStore issue when uploading symbols to a symbol server

Hi,

Our build machines are having issues uploading symbols to our symbol server using the `symstore` executable from the "Debugging Tools for Windows". The following is some of the output

SYMSTORE ERROR: Class: Internal. Desc: Failed to index <filename>.dll. Line: 169. Error 536870914

SYMSTORE MESSAGE: Skipping <filename>.pdb - unsupported format. ErrorLevel is 11.

Since we also save the pdb and dll as part of the build I'm able to download the files and using the exact same symstore executable I'm able to successfully upload the symbols to the symbol server.

I'm wondering if the error code 536870914 (0x20000002) means anything as I couldn't find anything doing a web search.

I'm also wondering if this is a DLL issue where the symstore is picking up a different version.

For our case we store the following files that we are using the same executables/dlls across machines:

dbghelp.dll

dbgview.chm

Dbgview.exe

symsrv.dll

symsrv.yes

symstore.exe

symstore erroring out with error code 122.

Running the command give variety of error outputs :

SYMSTORE ERROR: Class: Internal. Desc: Unable to create full path name for "...."

The pathlength for the folder exceeds 260 characters. WHich might be the reason symstore is throwing error message but what does error code 122 mean and what should be done to run symstore successfully?
