Windows 10: Intermittent key failure of the same 6 keys

The keys for "Caps Lock, S, 5, 0, = and Delete" on my ASUS laptop intermittently do not respond on initial touch and will require many presses or, when its really bad, I have to resort to copy and paste particularly the S. There appears to be no reason and no trigger for when they start failing or then stop.


I have googled and tried EVERYTHING suggested. The onscreen keyboard app works as does a USB keyboard.


Just as an aside - when I started this question the keys were failing but now they are working fine!

It's a very long key on the booklet, so you are saying thats the issue?

did you check you email? after first step, an email is sent with your key.

The retail verison of GTA 4 that you passed on to your nephew contains a cd key... Does it look like this:

• Grand Theft Auto IV CD Keys in this format: 1ABCD-D3FGH-45I67 (not actual key)

If not and the key looks different, it can't be activated on Steam. That may be why he's having difficulty. Taken from here
