My system has been experiencing random crashes for the past 4 months, with error logs consistently indicating a hardware issue. These crashes mostly occur while I'm playing video games, but sometimes they also happen when I'm not gaming. I have run comprehensive stress tests on both the CPU and GPU, using tools like Prime95, FurMark, and MemTest for 4 hours. During this time, no relevant errors or system crashes occurred. This makes it difficult for me to believe that this is a hardware problem. I have uploaded the relevant dump files and some screenshots. I would appreciate it if experts co

    Stress Test Error, Need Help

Hey when I run the stress test now at anything higher than 3.7Ghz it says,
FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.49609375, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

    Any idea what this means?

    HDMI Intermittently Detected

Anyone got any ideas? It is being detected but it will not extend to it/ mirror unless I restart the computer. Have tried
    • Disconnecting power at monitor & selecting it's input to hdmi but it will not extend.
    • Updating graphics card driver
    • Updating monitor driver
    • Dxdiag yields no errors
disconnecting power at monitor & selecting it's input to hdmi but it will not extend.

Computer Freeze during gameplay, not during stress tests

    Hello Faith,
Thanks for taking the time to look into my problem.

It happens for multiple games when the system seems to be under heavier load. I've never had a crash just in desktop mode browsing the web, watching movies etc or running other programs. Weird things is that I can't manage to get a crash even under long stress tests. Might be due to variability as you say.

I discovered yesterday that my RAM was running at 2333 Mhz instead of 3200Mhz and without XMP. I suspect that this was reset somehow when I updated the firmware for the BIOS. When I was fixing this I also discovered that I had installed the RAM incorrectly so it was running in single channel instead of dual channel. I'm going to see if this fixes something. Weird thing is that I didn't run into any issues when doing memtest for 8hours+ though. So it might be something else. I'll try anyways and if it doesn't fix the problem I'll follow your steps.

Do you think we can rule out PSU issues since stress tests didn't manage to replicate the issue? I'm also leaning against ruling out GPU issues. I mean, I don't have any artifacts and stress/performance tests doesn't show any bad performance and it doesn't cause the system to crash.
