    Intermittent wireless bandwidth cap

My internet connection is roughly 180Mbps via home wireless network. My Win10 PC is intermittently getting capped at 10, 30, 75Mbps over wireless. It seems random. I check my phone, and it always gets the max available. I believe I have disconnected and reconnected on wireless, and that got me back to full bandwidth. I reconnected today, and it went from 30M to 75M. I just got through rebooting my wireless router, and that fixed it.

I'm a network guy, but I don't understand how or why my PC seems to be getting singled out with this cap or why resetting the wireless connection or rebooting would make any difference. Any advice or discussion welcomed.

    :)

network download speed capped when connecting to some wireless APs

What could be the problem when internet download speed is capped (approx 10%) of available bandwidth when connecting to some 802.11ac wireless APs while other APs provide up to 100% of bandwidth (using speedtest.net). Other devices eg. iphone/laptops will
    download at full available bandwidth.

I'm using a windows 10 home laptop with i5-8250 Intel CPU and Intel AC7265 wireless chipset - drivers updated to latest.

i also tried a USB wireless dongle and have same problem but when using USB wired dongle, i get full available bandwidth.

  3. (SOLVED/CLOSED)looking for help with Android phone CONSTANT wireless signal notification

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

    Windows 10: Wireless Intermittently Disconnecting

After upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 I have been encountering a problem with my wireless adapter when my Wifi is set at the 5GHz bandwidth (where I had no issues at all with Win 7). At this bandwidth my wireless intermittently disconnects.

There appears no pattern to it as sometimes it disconnects and reconnects loads, does it randomly once or doesn't do it for ages. It automatically reconnects after disconnecting and when moving back down to the 2.4GHz bandwidth I don't appear to encounter
this (not been used long enough to definitely say though!) and just get a worth wifi connection due to the busier bandwidth.

"Solutions" I have tried so far with no success include:

    (1) Maximum Performance on Wireless adapters: to prevent it being powered-down.#

    (2) Changing the driver from Ralink to MediaTek: where the latter makes the 5GHz bandwidth not detectable.

    (3) Changing USB port

    (4) Making it a private network (which it is but it was previously public)

    (5) Unticking IPv6

    (7) Unticking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

At an educated guess it seems to me that there is some sort of driver issue with the 5GHz bandwidth with Windows 10 but I have not been able to spot a driver update for Windows 10 for my adapter or an alternative. Here is the wireless adapter i am currently
    using:

    CSL - DUAL BAND N600 WLAN Stick:Amazon.co.uk:Electronics

    Driver: Ralink, Version: 5.1.7.0

Cheers for any help in advance!
