Windows 10: Internal Cam and External Cam not working after latest UPDATE of the 3rd of Oct 2019

I am running a ASUS X541UA laptop running windows 10 home and up till the latest update was put on my laptop on the 3rd of OCT 2019 my Internal Cam and External cam has failed to work now get an error message OxAOOF429F Ox887AOOO4 / OxAOOF4246 Ox887AOOO4, I have tried as suggested with the editing of the local registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform and then adding DWORD 32 and changing the value to 0, but this has not worked at all.

Unable to use the external web cam.

To assist you better, I would like to know the make and model of the computer and the web cam.

This issue may arise due to compatibility issues.

I suggest you to first disable the internal camera from the device manager and check if that helps to resolve the issue.

• 
  Right Click on Start menu and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand the section beside "Imaging Devices".
  
• 
  Right-click on your webcam and choose
  Disable.
  

Please check if you are able to use the external web cam after disabling the internal cam.

Web cam not working.

We need more information about your concern. Is this a built-in web cam or an external web cam? If it's an external web cam, we suggest that you try and use other ports and see if it helps. You can also try to download the web cam driver through the manufacturer's
website.

  Press (Windows key + X) and click on “Device Manager”.

If the issue still persist try the below method provided.

I would recommend you to go to the below provided link and download the latest updated cam driver and installed it in compatibility mode and let us know the status. Follow the below steps:

  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
  

If the issue still persist, I would suggest you to wait for some time until Microsoft does not
release the Microsoft life cam HD3000 driver.
