Windows 10: internal dvd player stopped working-won't play dvds or cds

Discus and support internal dvd player stopped working-won't play dvds or cds in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; or anything else. It shows up in My Computer, but will not work.     internal dvd player stopped working-won't play dvds or cds


    or anything else. It shows up in My Computer, but will not work. Checking it in Device Manager, the message is there is no problem with the player, or the driver. Super strange, have never encountered this.


    I have an Acer All-In-One, and if I can't fix it, I will just go buy an external DVD Player/Recorder.


    I am not really sure if I a driver is corrupted, or if it lost some connection wire, or what? Does anyone have any ideas about a low cost repair or DIY to fix it?


    So frustrating and time-consuming.

    dvd player don`t work

    I just upgraded to windows 10 .my dvd player on my hp 2000 laptop won`t play cd`s or dvd`s .also I can not play videos on facebook or youtube.

    Windows 8.1 Media Player can't play DVDs.

    Codecs is to do with file types that can be played by default.

    Not the correct codecs installed, it can't play it.

    I suggest that you look at using a different Media Player to view DVDs, etc..

    DVD/CD Player not working

    I have a Lenovo G505s Laptop with Windows 10 and a DVD/ CD Player that suddenly does not work. The computer tells me the drivers are OK. I have been into Device Manager and uninstalled and reinstalled both the DVD player and the associated controller without success. The DVD player appears to be working OK ( I can hear it working and the small power light comes on ) but for some reason the system does not recognise it . I am reluctant to get involved in registry changes ( suggested as a possible source of the problem ) as I am not too computer savvy.
